Giving Children the Gift of Summer Fun

After a difficult year of limited activities and social interaction, kids need the fun, friendships, and encouragement they find at summer camp! At Youth Haven, disadvantaged kids have a chance to do exciting things they might never have experienced before, like visiting the animals at our petting farm, swimming, playing gaga ball and other games, getting creative in the craft room, zipping down the water slide, and more! (Did we mention our cooks make the best food around?)

All of these fun activities are tools to help us share the Gospel with children who need the hope of Christ. This summer, our mascot Harvey the Moose and his friends are taking the children on a safari adventure, where they’ll learn how God rescued His people from slavery in Egypt and cared for them in the wilderness. They’ll discover that God still cares for His children — so much that He sent Jesus to be our savior!

Yes, summer at Youth Haven is fun! When you know what some of these kids have been through, helping them feel secure enough to simply have fun is a gift that means the world. And it opens the door for us to share about our great God and His unconditional love for them. Thank you for making it possible!
