Bringing Kids Joy Right Where They Are

At Youth Haven, we’ve always been more than a camp. We absolutely love having the children on site with us as often as possible, and we know it has a powerful impact on their lives. But we also want to give them more than a week-long camp experience.

Right now we’re investing time and energy into building relationships with our kids and some of their families. We’ve been able to speak with foster parents, single parents, and grandparents raising grandchildren to encourage them and let them know how much we love the children. And we’ve been answered with gratitude and enthusiasm when we’ve asked if we could deliver packages and birthday treats to the children at their homes.

This summer, over 150 kids will get a visit from our staff with Harvey, the Youth Haven mascot, bringing cupcakes, a birthday card, and a special birthday gift from Youth Haven. They’ll be reminded that God created them to be wonderfully unique, and He loves them. We’re making sure we have a few extra treats so we can bring joy to the whole family and show them the love of Jesus!

We’re also working in coordination with the Lansing Housing Commission to meet the needs of the children we serve there through our Kids’ Club programs. We’re excited to be able to interact with the children in their own neighborhoods throughout the summer, not just during the school year!

Thank you for standing with us to make this possible. We couldn’t do it without your help! You are bringing kids joy during some very difficult times.
