Programs for Disadvantaged Children

Youth Haven is a great place to be, with exciting things happening all year long! Youth Haven offers a variety of free services for kids who have experienced some type of hardship in their lives. Examples include children in foster care, single-parent homes, or low-income homes. Sponsors provide scholarships so all of these children can participate free of charge.

Exciting Weekend and Summer Camps

We understand the importance of getting children away from the distractions and difficulties of their every-day lives. Our campus is a safe and fun place for these kids, and they are always welcomed with love. We have weekend camps for ages 7-13 during the school year, and 5-day summer camps for ages 8-13. While the children are with us, caring adults spend time with them and serve as positive role models. The children participate in a wide variety of activities that teach teamwork, help develop social skills and self-esteem, and encourage creativity and physical exercise. As a non-denominational Christian outreach, we also teach morals and values that will help the children positively impact their own schools, communities, and the world!

Follow-Up

Follow-up is an important part of our services for disadvantaged children. We realize our ability to have a life-changing impact on the life of a child is limited if we have no contact with them after they go home. For this reason, we've developed a special follow-up process that invites the children to return, encourages them to keep reading their Trailbooks (Bibles), reminds them how much we love them, and provides an ability to keep in touch with us.

Elevate!

Although our primary ministry focus is children between the ages of 7 and 13, teens ages 14-17 have an opportunity to be part of our Elevate program, designed to help them reach new heights with Christ. Teens entering 9th or 10th grade in the fall who are between 13 and 15 years old can attend periodic Elevate retreats, with a focus on spiritual and personal growth. Teens who are at least 14 years old and entering 10th grade in the fall can apply to serve as alongside our staff team as teen volunteers. Our staff continue to mentor them and serve as a stable positive influence in their lives. Teens can relate to the children in a very special way and be positive role models to them. The children love it when teens they look up to want to spend time with them! And the teens develop valuable leadership skills in the process.

Kids' Klub

Our staff also have an opportunity to interact with children in specific low-income housing areas on a weekly basis throughout the school year. Our Kid's Klub program takes games, snacks and stories to kids right in their own neighborhoods!
