Distribution of Trailbooks (New Testaments) is one of the most important aspects of the children's program at Youth Haven, as it helps us achieve our primary goal of reaching disadvantaged youth for Christ. Since many of the boys and girls who come to Youth Haven do not have Bibles of their own, the Trailbook is an important method for teaching them while they are here, as well as after they leave.

When children return home at the end of their stay, they take with them their very own copy of the New Testament. It is our hope and prayer that the principles they learn at the Ranch will inspire them to continue studying the Bible.  To help them along that path, our staff send the children follow-up letters and quarterly “Ranch Review” newsletters.  These mailings challenge them to read and memorize certain passages in their Trailbooks, and the Ranch Review often includes contests encouraging them to send in their response to Bible-based questions in order to receive a prize.  This helps teach the children active Bible study and participation in a fun way.
